Trump Stains without Toxins

Puracy’s Stain Remover is amazing when it comes to getting rid of your weekly soils. Whatever is in this 25 fl oz bottle is magic, a little goes a long ways...we’re talking 800 stains worth of treatments. Laundry aficionados swear by this stuff and it’s uncanny ability to lift dried-in-stains. Even more impressive, a bunch of those fearless fabric-diaper mums on Amazon (who are dealing with—cough cough—some pretty dirty stuff on the daily) are big believers. So, if they swear by it, then you know it’s good.

When you think Puracy, think plant-based enzymes. Enzymes are the stuff that break down the oils in a stain naturally without bleaching or discoloration. Puracy uses a blend that has six different natural enzymes to cover all of your bases. This stain remover is naturally derived, hypoallergenic, non-toxic, vegan, gluten-free, and biodegradable. Plus it’s free of SLS (and SLES) sulphates, phosphates, animal by-products, chlorine, bleach, dyes, petrochemicals, caustics, or optical brighteners (optical brighteners are nasty chemicals that are toxic to our waterways). Oh, and the bottles comes with a spray.

On the day to day I use this as a pre-treater before tossing things in the washer. I’ve found that it works really well on grass stains, smelly cat beds, and old stains that somehow made it through the dryer without (surprisingly) anyone noticing them.

Personally I swear by using this stuff on carpet.  In our workout room, someone accidentally spilled some BB juice (a beet & blueberry blend) all over our beige-toned carpet. It looked like a fruitarian crime scene.  Luckily, ten minutes & one wet cloth later and it was cleaner than.

Here’s my formula for tough stains:

Spray about 3-4 squirts on your stained area and massage it w/ a toothbrush. Let it sit for a day then launder with the warmest water the article will let you use. Don’t forget to opt for the "Extra Rinse" cycle. Repeat the process one last time and then rejoice in your soli-free shirt/skirt and or sleeve.

Good for You -  In 2015 the EWG website listed Puracy's ingredients as a safe "1 "- but in 2016 EWG changed it rating  due to the Sodium Borate (Natural Mineral Cleanser)  and bumped the ingredient warning to "7".    I reached out to Puracy to learn more about the change,  and the company sent this helpful page packed with information to help the mindful consumer.

Good for Others - Puracy is a small company that donates their  products to families and children via organizations including Austin's Children's Shelter, and The Ronald McDonald House. All Puracy products feature original hand-drawn artwork created exclusively for each label from local Austin artists.

Good for Earth - Puracy’s biodegradable formula is safe for the environment and are formulated to do (a lot) more with less (hence the 800 stains per bottle). Puracy’s goal was to create products that last longer and use less packaging.  For this product, Puracy used PET(E) plastic (it's 100% recyclable and is the most widely recycled plastic in the world). We love their transparency with sourcing on their website too. Puracy is also cruelty free and vegan.

C&C Overall - Compared to other natural spot removers, Puracy really does stand out. After reading more about the natural sodium borate, I've decided use this bottle on clothing only (instead of carpet) and just to be safe I make sure to spray the stains, let them sit and toss in the wash (all without touching the formula).
