Gourmet S’mores Are Now in Your Grasp: Introducing Smash Mallow

Gourmet S’mores Are Now in Your Grasp: Introducing Smash Mallow

The season of camping, sunshine & summer is nearly at a close, but Hazel and I still wanted to write about something we’re particularly passionate about: S’mores.

It’s embarrassing to admit this, but our family took s’more-making very seriously growing up. In fact, we still do. Let’s just say our campouts involve a scoreboard full of measurable criteria.

Needless to say, when Smash Mallows showed up at our neighborhood grocery store, we took notice.

Smash Mallows are made with organic cane sugar and all-natural ingredients.  They are also made from Kosher bovine gelatin―this is good news since some conventional marshmallow brands gather their gelatin from rather shady sources.

Hazel and I took a taste test and our favorite Smash Mallow flavors (so far): Mint Chocolate Chip & Toasted Coconut Pineapple.

Runner Up:  Root Beer Float. To be honest, we didn’t love the flavor, but our husbands sure did.

Anyway, earlier this summer, we attended another extended-family campout. Hazel brought her “A-Game” (aka two bags Toasted Coconut Pineapple Smash Mallows) and dazzled the familial crowd. The unbiased judges (Uncle Bob & Grandmum) gave her a perfect score in all three categories.

It was ground breaking.

It took some convincing, but here’s the recipe I wrangled from Hazel’s S’more Folders.

Hazels’ 2019 - Championship S’more Recipe (The Tropic Wonder)

Ingredients for One Perfect S'more:

  • 2 Smash Mallows: Toasted Coconut Pineapple

  • 2 Homemade Graham Crackers. Use recipe from Simply Taylor

  • 1 Tablespoon Organic Salted Carmel Spread. Use recipe from Whole Lifestyle Nutrition

  • 1 Tablespoon Raw Macadamia Butter

  • 1/4th piece of Theo Chocolate: Coconut Organic Dark Chocolate - 70% Cocoa

Instructions:

  1. Use a knife to spread ½ tablespoon of macadamia butter on one side of each of your graham crackers. Then drizzle salted caramel on top of the macadamia butter.

  2. Roast your two Smash Mallows over the fire. Perfection is slightly toasted on all sides with a gooey center.

  3. Place Theo Chocolate on the graham cracker designated to be your “bottom”. Then put your Smash Mallows on top of chocolate. Sandwich it with the top piece of your graham.

  4. Enjoy.

Love,

Hazel and Lemon
