Hope and Henry is My Go-To for Style and Sustainability
When I started packing for our move, I was completely overwhelmed by the sheer number of boxes filled with clothes we’d somehow accumulated. Don’t get me wrong—it wasn’t that I was ungrateful for the abundance, but I felt a bit sheepish realizing just how often I’d fallen for the temptations of fast fashion.
The chaos from all those clothes was real, and no wonder my poor kiddos struggled to keep things off the floor! As a full-grown adult, I was drowning in clothing clutter myself, and I knew something had to change.
Determined (or maybe just desperate) after the move, I took inspiration from Caroline Joy Rector, Marie Kondo, and Jil Sander and set out to simplify our wardrobe once and for all.
Now, 16 months later, I’m amazed at how much easier life feels since we embraced a more thoughtful approach with beautiful, organic, and classic staples. One store in particular has made all the difference—Hope and Henry.
I came across them while searching for organic, cute, and durable capsule clothing brands, and they’ve really helped me reach my minimalism and ecofriendly goals all in one fail swoop.
Hope and Henry is all about stylish, affordable, sustainable clothing for families. Founded by a former Gymboree exec, the company was created with the goal of offering kids timeless, eco-friendly pieces—without the hefty price tag.
What I Love About It | First off, their clothes are ridiculously cute—think your fav houndstooth and herringbone fabrics but cut to fit your mini-me perfectly. But here’s the real win: they can handle whatever my kids throw at them, literally. Whether it's playground tumbles, after-school spills, or backyard dirt, these outfits survive it all (spaghetti stains included). It’s a win for both my laundry pile and my sanity. Oh, and matching the family without feeling cheesy? So doable. My secret dream of rocking those classic "Von Trapp" family vibes is still very much alive!
Anyways, let’s talk quality. I’m all about clothes that last, and these do. I’ve passed pieces down between my girls already, and they still look good. Whether it’s a ruffle dress or a pair of leggings, I’ve been seriously impressed with how well they hold up.
Good To Know | Sizing is mostly accurate, but if your kiddos are growing like weeds (my oldest is keeping me on my toes right now) I’d suggest sizing up just to get a little extra wear.
Ethics | Okay, I’m not just here for the cute outfits—Hope and Henry is also seriously committed to doing good. They use organic cotton, recycled materials, and even low-impact dyes, which is great for my peace of mind. They’re all about fair trade practices too, which makes me feel even better about supporting them. It’s rare to find a brand that’s so transparent and dedicated to treating their workers (and the planet) well. And bonus? They donate a portion of their profits to help kids and families in need. Since 2018, they also give cash bonuses to the workers of two of the factories with whom we do business.
Price | $20 - $40
Sustainability | As a mom who’s trying to raise little eco-warriors, I really appreciate that Hope and Henry is so committed to sustainability. Not only do they use organic and recycled fabrics (they are GOTS certified + OCS certified) but they’re also working towards a zero-waste goal and powering their factories with renewable energy. Plus, they’re part of the Better Cotton Initiative, which means their cotton is sourced more ethically and sustainably. It’s basically guilt-free shopping!
C & C Overall Review | Long story short, Hope and Henry is my new go-to for cute, comfy, and eco-friendly kids’ clothes. They’re durable enough to survive my kids’ shenanigans, and the styles are always on point. Plus, I love knowing that I’m supporting a brand that’s doing good for the planet and the people who make their clothes.
Have you tried Hope and Henry yet? Or do you have another favorite sustainable brand? I’d love to hear all about it in the comments or on social!
XOXO,
